Music Torrents

Torrent Scan allows you to quickly scan for music torrents:

1. Enter your keywords in the input box
2. Choose and click on a search engine

The regular search results for your keywords will load, and the search category filter will slide out from the top. Not all torrent engines support advanced category searching such as for music torrents, but most do.

3. Click that Music filter button

Instead of seeing the regular search results page, you will see that same page but with everything that is not a music torrent filtered out.

Torrent Scan loads the top torrent engines automatically when you load the site. However, there are many more torrent engines around, some specializing in one particular category. A torrent engine that specializes in music torrents is the Coda.fm engine. The Coda.fm engine is not enabled by default and so not shown in your engine list by default.

If you are looking for music torrents it can be useful to enable this music torrent engine. Here are the steps you must take:

1. Click the Wrench icon (top left of the screen)
2. Your control panel will load
3. Click the Configure Your Engine List button
4. Your engine list customization panel will load
5. Open Find Coda.fm in the list on the right (the available engine list)
6. Drag and drop this music torrent engine to the list on the left (the enabled engine list)
7. Click the Save button

You can drop this music torrent engine anywhere you want in that left list. The order of the list matters though. If you drag this music torrent site to the top of the list, it will be shown above all your other torrent engines.

Torrent Scan will remember that you have added this music torrents site, and also where you have placed it in your list. Torrent Scan will save this information by creating a browser cookie.

You can remove the music torrents engine again at any point. Just go back into the control panel and move it from the enabled engine list, to the available engine list. You can of course also add and remove other engines too, but the best engines are already automatically loaded when you visit Torrent Scan (this music torrents engine definitely deserves to be an exception).

BitTorrent does not have a global search function that allows users to search the entire network. This is simply because there is no one, big network. Each torrent file has its own small network. This has many advantages, but it also has disadvantages and perhaps searching for music torrents is one of those disadvantages.
